Federation of Christian Police Fellowships

Don has been married to Eleanor for thirty-eight years. Eleanor and I are responsible for a discipleship training course in our local church.

Between 1963 and 1996 I served with the Metropolitan Police ( London ) in a variety of roles including front-line policing and traffic patrol. I completed my service as a sergeant at New Scotland Yard where I was co-ordinator of a service-wide group looking at ways of improving the quality of service to the public. Throughout my time as an officer, I was involved with the Christian Police Association both at a local and national level. In 1992, from within CPA, we formed the Federation of Christian Police Fellowships which links together Christian Police groups around the world and to date have held three international conferences.

Whilst still serving as a police officer, I completed studies at Spurgeon’s College in Pastoral Care and Counseling and the Cambridge University Diploma in Religious Studies, graduating in 1990.

Since leaving the police service, I have held the post of Assistant Director of the Christian Police Association and more recently Executive Director, in which I still serve. As part of that work I have been serving as Chaplain to the Police Rehabilitation Centre in the South of England . Over the years it has been my privilege to minister in a number of countries throughout Europe . I am also an instructor with the Pointman Leadership Institute and been overseas with them to Russia (twice), Estonia and Romania .

He has been a board member of the German Christian Police Association since the eighties being responsible for foreign contacts and founded in 1993 together with two other members a group to serve police officers around the world in building up moral and ethical values.

Matthias has visited all continents to present seminars about Ethic in Police Leadership (except Australia). In 2003 he was sent to Brussels to represent Germany in the Joint Situation Centre for the foreign ministry in a diplomatic status.#

In Southern Germany he visits churches to share with them about being a Christian and a Police Officer.
